I'm going to be launching a handful of small "Micro-sass" apps in the coming months and I'm starting to think about the marketing side of things. One route I'm considering is whether or not social media accounts are worth setting up for these projects?
I can definitely see them as a potential way to reach users, but at the same time I'm concerned about spending too much time managing them for not enough gain.
My other thought is to use the parent company that owns all the apps and post about them there. I think that would be less overall work and more consistent, but at the cost of potentially feeling a bit disjointed as these apps are in difference niches.
What are your thoughts? Do you create social accounts for all your apps? If you do, do you create them right away, or wait until you hit some sort of threshold beforehand?
In terms of timing, it can be a good idea to wait until you hit a certain threshold of users or revenue before creating social media accounts for each app, as this can help you prioritize your time and resources. Ultimately, it's important to find the balance between promoting your apps effectively and avoiding unnecessary work that could take away from developing and improving the products themselves.
I only do it if it’s necessary. But use my main account as the hub. Sometimes you can jeopardise your brand if your not active on that account, as it seems empty and no one showing interest.
Love it or hate it, Twitter seems like a good place to talk about your projects.
I've never used separate accounts for any products in the last few years, I promote everything through my main personal account
yeah i think it's always good to create a social account for every app.
No I just have one account for my personal brand and I talk about my projects there.
I make socials for the channels I’m going to use. Gives a dedicated space to talk about the project. I will also post on my main account too.
