Do you create video content for your startup?

Hey Indiehackers,

Do you guys usually create video content for your product?

If so, how are you creating those video content?

Any thoughts on creating video content to drive engagement with your customers?

As a stock drone footage platform, almost all of our outward communication on social media is video based.

We get mixed results with organic engagement depending on the platform, type of message in the video and even time of day of posting can have an effect. For paid ads, video assets are really effective - not only are the platforms favouring this type of content, but the users are often more captivated by moving imagery than stills, which of course increases engagement and click throughs. We have the added advantage of being able to use quality aerial footage in our productions to grab the attention of viewers - having some assets to create that scroll stopping effect can really come in useful!

We're creating videos with Final Cut Pro, but have also used Promo, Kapwing and the new Vimeo tool for fast video creation - each with varying success.

    Good luck!

I've experienced running short video paid ads on Facebook and Gif ad on Instagram stories for my side project.

It's definitely worth a try if you need a generate/widen your top marketing funnel. Make sure to keep it short and sweet and do not over-edit. Simple and organic video wins.

        Sure! How can I help?

I've spent a lot of money on explainer video for my startup Skirmish. The video was well received and won awards (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejX4asW6W7g). But for timing reasons and delay in development in part, it was not a successful marketing campaign despite how good the video looked.

A cheaper faster turnover is to use those tools designed for short low-cost videos such as Canva, and Ripl. I use Ripl regularly to feature best content on the site.

Oh man, I'm so sorry. I'm getting worse at following up with all the emails and sites. I totally missed this. Was not my intention.

I know it's late, but I'm happy to share whatever small knowledge I have if you still want to. I promise I will check this time 😅.

Yes kapwing is one of the better tools I use for this. Especially for smaller videos.

I am always looking for a tool that helps make vlogs really fast. Good edits, or makes edits really easy. In general a tool that makes it easier to edit longer videos.

The learning curve of Final Cut Pro and other is to high just to do basic editing.

    Hi!
What do you mean with "to drive engagement with your customers"?

I use video assets for ads, tutorials and quickly show case our product in landing pages. Everything is done in-house, but there are several online tools that can help you create those materials.
