Do you find it easier to achieve goals when you have accountability buddy?

I am in the process of validating an app idea and I wanted to see if accountability buddies actually work for any of you.

I am looking for way to become more self-disciplined and I think a good start would be to find an accountability buddy. I am not sure though how effective that method is so if you have success stories of that kind, please share them with us.

If this method turns out to be great I will build a little tool for myself that might be a good app for other as well.

For me it depends. When it comes to building my business I'm very self-motivated. So I think I'm fine without a buddy. However, for things like exercise that aren't as much fun it really helps. Getting up early in the morning to work out suddenly becomes a lot easier when someone expects you to be there.

I see, don't you have any tedious tasks in your business-building process that you might find helpful to have periodical check-ins with someone to keep you on track?

I have learned due my own nature I NEED accountability partners to keep me motivated and working towards a goal. For example, I was working on my Master's and my colleague would check in every week and ask me how it was going, what I was doing, what classes I was taking, etc. They also helped me schedule exams, and plan. Needless to say, I would not be a certified teacher without them!

Congrats on your achievements, my plan on implementing this into my life is almost identical to your experience.

Thank you for your response ! :)

Interestingly, I think the competition drives me more. Having an accountability partner only goes so far for me. I think the best ones are achieving their goals at the same time and not just coaching you in yours.
