Do you find it useful to have created sample tasks for you in task management apps?

I'm creating a task management application and I noticed that some of my competitors create sample tasks for all new users. These tasks are usually tell about basic features of the app. Do you personally find it useful? I just delete them right away, but maybe I'm missing something and these tasks help people to start using the app?
