Do you get my 1-line pitch?

We’re Dendwell. We’re building a web application that helps people design and shop for their homes without an interior designer.

  • Does this make sense to you?
  • What do you imagine when you read this?
  • Thoughts for improvement?

    Yes it makes sense.

    Improvement ideas:

I would drop the "We're building a web application" part. It feels that halfway through your 1-liner do you start describing what you do.

    1. Dendwell helps you design and shop for your home like a pro, with our simple web app.
    2. Dendwell helps you design and shop for your home, without needing an interior designer.
    3. Dendwell is your digital interior designer, making it easy to design and shop for your home.

    Hope it helps :)

I get the pitch -- solid idea but could iterate on the specifics.

Note sure I like the name Dendwell but that's very subjective.

"We’re building a web application that helps people design and shop for their homes without an interior designer."

Nobody cares that it's a webapp or a mobile app or whatever. Leave that part out.

"Dendwell helps people design and shop for their homes without an interior designer."

I'd ask yourself what is single largest pain point w/ hiring an interior designer that your solution solves? cost? effort? try some pitches that focus on how your solution helps with those pain points and see where that takes you.

(as always these are just my opinions 😄)

I agree with @ChrisGG on dropping the "We're building a web application".

The question I have reading it, is it a service like Havenly which provides interior design services, or are you helping people shop for their homes in a different way.

We help you design your dream home without an interior designer.

Your building a web application for me so I can shop hope items and save on an internal designer... no I don't get that.. why would I want my own custom web application if I want to shop for home design...

Dendwell could loosely translate into: didn’t end well.

“Interior Design is a grim and serious business. Not anymore.”

I like the concept. Here is a quick suggestion along with an alt name. Note that I‘m reading a bit further into your pitch so this could be off the mark.

Deni is a virtual interior designer that helps you house hunt by “redesigning” homes for sale in your own style.

Makes sense, it made me think of Stitch Fix but for home decor.

For improvement, I would say that this explains the what but not really the how. Does the web app let me choose things I like and give me suggestions? Will I be getting actual items shipped to me? Not sure if thats important to a 1-sentence pitch but just my $0.02!
