Do you get support requests in non-English?

Hi, I have a Crisp (chat support) installed on my website. Traffic is not that big. But noticed about 50% of the time, I get messages in a different language. That is Spanish, and Italian. I just got one in Chinese yesterday.

The website is all written in English. So I'm puzzled of what the expectation is. Maybe international support is the new norm. I'm not sure. I just toss it around with Google Translate.

I wonder if this foreign experience is common for you guys.

I occasionally get support requests in Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or even Chinese. I use Google Translate to understand the request, then reply back in English and use GT to translate back to the original language. My response includes both language versions - English and the one translated to the sender's language, with a note that I used Google Translate.

No chat in my company but we have email for support and pre-sales. We are at the point now where we have people on the team that cover a wide range of languages so that helps, but in worse case scenario we translate it in Google and then reply in English.

I see, so people email in a variety of languages too. Good to know that

      customer: foreign language.
      you: English.

conversation exists today. What a strange global world.

PS: you're a veteran in IH. Didn't even know it was around that old. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with newbies.

Yeah that's about right. The conversation will continue for the most part. It also just sends the signal that you are only able to communicate in English. This isn't rude btw, but just being upfront so that there aren't any expectations of the opposite.

I am a veteran in entrepreneurship, but not so much IH (just recently joined here) ... but hoping to be able to give back/help out based on my experience.
