Did you know that you can have a "dead" IG account that severely limits your ability to grow?! π²
It happened to me... π
It's best to avoid getting on Instagram's bad side all together but if you do find yourself with some reach issues then it's worth analyzing your account further.
The nice thing is that it's easy to stay in the good graces of Instagram but if you slip up then it could spell trouble that you may not be able to come back from.
There are three important things to discuss when it comes to a "dead" Instagram account.
Even if you don't think your account's reach is being limited, it's good to know the things that Instagram frowns upon and do the opposite. π€
Check out my insights on whether or not you have a "dead" IG account or not. π
Well, I will disagree on that explore thing changes in a matter of days.. search and start liking pictures in your new niche. Follow 4 or 5 accounts in your new niche and interact with these accounts.
You will see the explore page has changed to your new niche content. Anyone can try this and see how it affects.
I didn't realise IG's untameable algorithm could make it such a pain to use. How are you supposed to do when you're pivoting then?
Thanks for the article, very interesting!
If you are making a big pivot then I would create a new account then try and get IG to reclassify your old one. You can use the existing account to promote the new one heavily. Obviously, if you have a ton of followers then they won't all go over and follow the new IG but the ones who care will! After you feel like you have sapped your existing account of all of the target customers, you can focus on the new account's growth in your new niche.
Alright man, thanks a lot for the tips! :)
I suggest using our free Instagram Banned Hashtags Tool - to check that those hashtags you were planning to use are not going to earn you a shadowban:
https://app.ritetag.com/instagram-banned-hashtags-tool (free registration required)
And then, you can do a no-credit card free trial of RiteTag. Get the browser extension and then just get the best hashtags for any photo or IG caption. https://help.ritekit.com/en/article/ritetag-pro-20-browser-extension-tutorial-1jve5fa/
Ritetag is legit!
I built Curate, a hashtag analytics tool, to help me with the same thing!
