Hi IH!
I'm developing a browser based animation tool for startups & solo entrepreneurs (focusing on beginner friendly and simple to learn & create videos). Well there are 1000s of animation tools out there.
As IndieHackers we tend to brainstorm many ideas frequently or work on promoting a single startup. In both the cases, video would be a great way for making end users understand our product.
I'm just curious which animation tool you use for your business? or do you hire freelancers?
And How often do you have the need for creating an explainer video?
Would you like to get notified when I launch my tool? if yes, please reply to this post.
(probably you'll be notified by next week).
Is your idea to animate images (like proper cartoon-type animations) or a simpler/more general tool?
I'm also working in the video app/animation space. It's so much fun to work on, and there are so many ways to make it unique and solve different use cases. My app is more of a "Create videos with or without video content" type thing, so I don't think of it as animation as much.
Good luck, whatever you're doing!
My tool is more like creating storytime style animated videos. I thought that style is simple to execute and very effective in explaining things. My main focus in to make the tool as simple as possible to learn and create, Primarily focused on early stage startups and solo entrepreneurs.
would you like to be notified when I launch?
Sure! Would love to see what you're creating!
Thank you! will notify you via reply.
Sure, I can give it a quick try and give some feedback.
Thank you ! https://videofork.co/ is my website. please check it out and give me your feedback.
That's pretty cool! I managed to add a person and a cup to my video and animate it. I exported it as an mp4, but didn't see any of the elements in the video result (maybe I exported before saving it, or maybe I accidentally unchecked them?) I also noticed you could select "joints" in the svg but couldn't tell if there's a way to animate them.
I see a lot of my project in the way this is developing! It looks like a solid base with some need for UI to smooth it out.
A timeline would help make timing a lot easier. Some presets/customizable examples would help get started more easily.
It definitely took a little while to figure out the interface, but the issues I had seem fixable. I'm guessing you use some sort of Chrome backend to do the rendering?
Fun stuff :)
Hi Andrew, Thank you so much for trying out!! I'm happy that you liked it. yep there is a real need for good UI. I will be working on that in the coming days.
What do you think of the pricing? are they reasonable for you?
I'm planning this to be the launch version. and to make improvements and work on the UI while I have some customers using and giving feedback. what do you think?
EDIT: the export error was due to a bug. I've fixed it, you can export smoothly. thank you for pointing it. :)
Pricing is tough. It sounds reasonable to me, but you really need to ask the people who want to make this kind of video (frequently).
I'm afraid of commitment :-P For the app I'm building, we decided to allow users on the free plan to make one-time purchases as well.
But I think if that's going to work, we need to really have the UI nailed down for casual use.
Launch UI is tough. If you can find your "hard core" fans, it's probably fine. If you want people who want to do it quickly, likely not.
What I've seen (in my Shopify video app) is that if users don't understand how to use it in the first minute, they'll drop off, but the ones who have a pressing need will work through it and become experts if it takes 20 minutes haha.
Thank you for your feedback. I got it :)
Hi, would you like to tryout my tool? I thought you could try it out before launch, to make some improvements.
In my case, I probably would need a video to introduce my product and its features. After that, I don't think I'd need more videos, to be honest.
I'd be interested in seeing your product so feel free to notify me :)

One doubt: did u use Google login or email sign up?
That is a great product. ya pretty much I too feel like an explainer video would be a great add-on to your landing page.
Thank you for your comment. I will notify you by replying to this comment or you can share me your email to get notified. :)
I mostly just use something like fiverr, because I don't have a huge need for animations (maybe a couple for my site) and I rather not learn something new and instead pay a little more to have someone else do a better job.
Could you try my product and let me know what you think?

Hey jagadeep,
I definitely want to be notified, excellent leads strategy!
As for animation, I have used https://www.renderforest.com/ and https://www.videoscribe.co/en in the past to create paid explainer videos.
Currently, I switched to https://lottiefiles.com/, because I belief the future is GIFS.
While in my free time, I am learning CSS Animation to work the challenges of Codepen to get better in frond-end development.
Hi, would you like to try out my tool? I thought you could try it out before launch. let me know when you're available.
@growbox Great!! I have been using videoscribe.co in some of my projects myself, it is a great tool. In fact, it is one of inspiration for me to create this tool. Videoscribe.co is focused on creating whiteboard animations however mine is focused on creating story time style animations.
I will notify you on launch by replying to this comment. :)
ok

I'd love to try out a tool to help create Training Videos for our product. Suggestions appreciated.

Sounds interesting, I would like to be notified. I have seen another tool where you can type in your text and it already preselects some pictures, also there was these hand animations.
What did you have in mind? Best wishes

Hi Juliandm,
The tool I'm working on is not automated like the one you mentioned. My tool is focused on creating story time style animations (something like 'Odd1sout' videos).
I thought this style of animation would be a perfect fit for being simple yet very effective in delivering your message to you customers.
The animation process is manual but focused on keeping the steps as simple as possible to learn and create. So that users have control over what can be shown in their video.
Thank you, I will notify you on launch by replying to this comment. :)
