Do you know businesses that are run by one person and earn more than 300k/year?

I would love to do a shorty (non-scientific) study about big businesses that are primarily run by one person.

The goal would be an article, trying to see types of businesses, any similarities in founders, how they got started, etc. The conclusion should answer this question

"Is there a correlation to be found between founders/businesses or anything else?"

However, before that, I need to find these businesses which have been a struggle.

Here is the complete definition:

  1. Must be in businesses for at least 5+ years (shows long-term potential vs. a fluke)

  2. Yearly revenue range: $300,000 up to $600,000 (with some exceptions can be a little higher, but preferably no more than $1 million per year)

  3. Must be "online businesses" - no physical presence needed

  4. Preferably up to 5 employees either full-time or part-time (with some exceptions, can be up to 8-9 employees)

  5. It would be great if the revenues would be somewhat publicly available to confirm that or the founder would be open to sharing this information with me.

  6. Upfront costs/investment of the business cannot be more than $10,000

Do you know any businesses that fit these criteria?

It would be awesome if you could share the URL of the person/company!

@ajlkn from Carrd.co probably fits into this too.

A few pop up here: https://www.indiehackers.com/products?employeeCount=1-9&founderCount=1&minRevenue=300000

Pinboard also comes to mind. It is run by Maciej Cegłowski and has self-reported revenue at 222K last year: https://blog.pinboard.in/2019/07/i_cant_stop_winning/

FYI: for some reason that link doesn't actually work (the search settings stick on the left but the results are wrong). Also, you have it set to $300,000/month rather than per year, which would be $25,000/month.

      Awesome! Thank you :)

I don't know if this meets all your criteria, but Arvid Kahl's FeedbackPanda came to mind. $55k/month when he sold it. https://www.indiehackers.com/podcast/140-arvid-kahl-of-feedbackpanda

I haven't heard of Profit Hunt - it looks like the site I was looking for. Thank you!
