From a lot of posts on here, people seem to not really been marketing their stuff outside of just one post on one channel.
I think it's mainly because as indiehackers, we don't really have much of a budget to work with for ads.
However, I think there's lots of organic ways to market. One useful one I've found is just leaving promotional comments everywhere you go.
Just bear in mind you'll need to provide some value with your comments first, but then you can drop the self promo at the end.
It's mainly what I've been doing with my AI as a service Evoke, which allows devs to run AI on the cloud through an API for their AI apps. Mainly just promoting it on AI groups on Reddit, but through the comments ONLY, since posts will get deleted.
Overall, we haven't even launched yet, and we've already built a large discord community interested in AI stuff and our product just through reddit comments

Yes, I can see your comments everywhere lol. I sometimes kind of refrained from doing it because afraid I'm pushing it too much. People would easily see you're actually trying to promote your product. But I try to provide some value too if possible.
Yep. When I first started, I was really scared of people seeing me in negative light as well with self promos. Growing up, depending on the culture, a lot of us are taught not to be disruptive or stand out.
However, I think that when it's business on the line, you have to learn to be more assertive even if it means stepping on some people's toes.
I've gotten plenty of heavily downvoted reddit comments, but I've just learned to ignore and chug along.
People will obviously be able to tell you're trying to promote, but I find they take it MUCH better if you provide some valuable insight first or a relevant post and then promote.
