Do you need a #1 product?

Hello, I’m new here. I’m a Product UX/UI Designer, and over the past 20yrs, I’ve concepted, designed, produced and built a lot of stuff. I’ve helped clients reach iTunes #1, and successfully brought $20m+ products to market

And now I’ve reached a point in my career where I’m really happy “cranking out ideas” for others to work from. I’m not so focussed anymore in bringing individual products to market and growing those businesses for myself. That takes a specific skillset, which I see in many of you on Indie Hackers 😀

So I’m thinking about starting a service for ready-made startup ideas, and designs. Kind of like a UI Kit, but a properly thought through business case, world-class design, assets and files from a seasoned pro

My first question is, would that help anyone along their entrepreneurial journey?

Then if I also included iOS, Android and Webapp source projects, would that make it more useful still?

Thanks for reading. I’ll hope to hear from you

Listen to the IH podcast episode with Human Proof Designs--this kind of reminds me of that business.

      Thanks! Will do

I'm kinda the inverse of that -high levels of execution, looking for viable startup concept for startup no 6. For me, the design/ui/etc is commodity, but finding validated, financially viable market opportunities with long-term monetary prospects (amongst a few other criteria) is tough.
Specifically, the many rando ideas floating around on the net very much seems like someone wishing for there to be free stuff; so what actually matters is a level of urgency, and volume attached to a specific problem, or job to be done.
    Happy to discuss in PM.

You're right, the viability is paramount

And I recognise that I might not always have the insight that seeds a venture - someone might have spotted that the market is really missing a kawaii themed dating app for mid-30s Norwegian bodybuilders *, but it's unlikely that I'll have the opportunity to research and discover all of those niches. So I'm instead focused on laying out the business case and perfect Product Design for something that can be adapted to many market-fits

If I can offer a catalogue of awesome business ideas with assets, maybe that can be the catalyst for someone to connect those with the many niches

      • I haven't checked 😆

So, this sounds then a slightly better fit design, eg developing designs specifically for "two-sided marketplaces", "crowdfunding websites", etc. This has some utility, as common elements are portable across niches, but the original point stands, which is that designs themselves are commodity.
OTOH, this is totally viability-testable: develop 1-3 concept designs, and put it to UX marketplaces with a proportionally scaled pricing to see what the market thinks about it. Good luck! :)
