Do you reward your potential users for joining the waitlist?

If you do, then what do you offer them? Discounts? Access to exclusive features? Free plan?

Should you even reward them at all? What is your strategy for "early birds"?

    yes

    • either LTD or early bird subscription
    • access to beta features

but often these users end up simply use your product only for short term

How big should the discount be? 30%, 50% or it depends?

it depends.i generally grandfather them to their existing plans while rasising prices for everyone else.

I think it's less about "rewarding" them and more about getting them excited to try the product. Rewards like discounts are one way to do that. Keeping the list "warm" is another way to keep the momentum going. I had a really good launch in July and discussed here how my frequent and consistent communication to the list played into that.

This also works for newsletters -- I run a small one and reward the people who subscribe with something I think is at least 5x their monthly sub in value.

Of course there's access to the premium content as well, but I love to show appreciation when I can. One thing I'm thinking of doing is trying to get exclusive discounts for them as well but that is a bit harder.

Discount yes for sure, access to a closed beta not available to anyone else + the full support and feedback system making it win-win for them and the product development.

It's super valuable if you have users showing interest in your product upfront. Engage with them and include them in the development process. Do things manually for them and charge them for that. Gain money, validation and insights.
