I find myself using Todoist for a few weeks, then leaving it behind. Then I start writing tasks in a Google Sheet. After a few weeks, I start using Todoist again. The cycle goes on and on. Have you experienced something similar?
I found it cumbersome to open up Asana all the time just to check my tasks, so I switched to using Notion for everything. Now I basically live in my task list, since it's intimately connected to my calendar, to my strategy docs, etc.
I used a bunch of to-do lists, definitely the ones that you mention above. everything I used had too many bells and whistles and managing tasks was a task too. Also, I realized that most of my anxiety about tasks came from work emails and what I was missing - so I built Taskwillow a To-do list app with an outlook email assistant.
you can check it out here. https://www.taskwillow.com
I use TickTick task management software. I am using it from last 2 years. It has been designed the way I think. So perfect match
I usually do tasking when I am buried in work so I can make sure I focus and don't forget other tasks. Usually, I don't personally need tasks to be written down. Though, I will if tasks need to be visible to others.
Some things don't need innovation. A note is just a note.
After years of playing around with fancy apps i end up using the default notes app in macOS. Simple, fast, reliable and syncs on all my devices.
Same here.
After trying out many task management apps, I pretty much settled in with Trello and Habitica but I occasionally go back to pen and paper or markdown and come back to the aforementioned apps in a few weeks.
Hey pyro! I ended up building a personal task manager with the aim of sticking with it for a long time. I'm currently beta-testing with ~50 users. Do you want to try it out?
I'm very much like that, but I think its either part of the process, or you haven't found the best one. Any way I think it's fine as sure as nothing gets behind!
Yep I switch between notes and reminders on iOS. I don’t think it matters to much in terms of getting stuff done what you choose.
I’m sort of like that. I generally keep track of big picture things in my life using a bullet journal (currrntly via GoodNotes on iPad) but for indie hacking I bounce from manager to manager every few weeks it seems. Tried Trello, pivotal, hacknplan, Basecamp, and others. Recently started using Clubhouse after the recommendations from Build Your SaaS podcast and am really liking it so far. Has a much better design than other tools I think but ask me about it in a few weeks and we’ll see if I’m able to stick with it still haha
How has Clubhouse turned out?

So far I've actually been really happy with it. There's only ever been once that I wished for something and couldn't find it (at least not in their free-tier ha) but other than that its still my top choice atm.
Happy to take a look at what you've built though if its sharable
