Do you understand quickly what my website is about?

Hello IH,

I'm really worried that people don't understand what my product is doing when going on my website for the first time. Can you go check it out and tell me if you understand what it's about please?
If you also have feedback on the landing page itself, feel free to share :)

Website: https://churntarget.com

Thanks

Just one observation: I'm not a native English speaker - but I've lived in an English speaking country for 8 years. I've heard the word churn before but I couldn't remember what it means when I visited your page. I thought "oh well I'm sure if I keep reading the page I will get it" but after reading a few sentences I still had no idea, and I ended up having to google "churn meaning". The problem is that almost all of the sentences in your landing page kept using the word "churn" without ever attempting to use a synonym or a different wording. Later I went back to your page and this time I kept reading until the part that says "Increase your profits by improving your customer's retention" this is an example of an alternative wording (as opposed to something like "increase your profits by reducing churn") I think if I had read that sentence the first time around, I would have understood immediately what your product is about.

TL;DR: make sure that your copy explains the concept using a varied terminology, not just relying on one single term

Edit: varying terms may also contribute to make your page easier to find through search engines.

Yes, I agree with Mastazi. This is the first thing that came to mind when I visited the website. Although I'm very well aware of what churn is, your homepage entirely assumes that this is going to be the case for every single person that lands on your website even though there is a big opportunity to fill the knowledge gap for those who don't instead of losing their attention.

Love the domain name by the way! :)

      1. 1

Thanks! I think now, even if you don't know what the term "churn" refers to, you get the meaning right after the hero section. The problem is that I want to use the term "churn" in the hero section, so I just hope I won't lose visitors attention :)

This is a good observation, but instead of just explaining it, perhaps it will be better to bring in some statistics about churn like "in [industry], 4% of customers leave without returning every month". This can serve the purpose of cluing the reader in to what the term churn might mean.

      1. 1

I could add something like that indeed!

    3. 2

Good point! I'll use different wordings then :)

      Thanks

It's great but what makes it different from chartmougal? Is it for other SaaS companies or all businesses?

    1. 1

I didn't know about Chartmogul but here is the difference from what I understood:

Chartmogul is a tool that helps you centralize your data in one place, and analyse it. You'll be able to see your MRR, churn rate etc. It seems that Chartmogul provides some analysis on the churn rate, but it's not the primary focus of their product.

ChurnTarget would be way more specialized in customer's retention and churn rate prediction.

I can't really tell you more because I only saw one small paragraph talking about customer's retention in Chartmogul so I don't know what technology they use nor the insights they provide.

      1. 2

If it is better than chartmougal then it's great!

  3. 2

You send messages to at risk customers.

However the headline doesn't make sense.

"Fix your customer's churn before it happens"

It is not your customers churn. They don't own it. It is your churn.

It could be "Fix your Saas churn before it happens"

Or "Reach out to your at risk customers before they churn"

    1. 1

Ok, thanks for the feedback! I didn't use the correct phrasing for the headline (and I definitely did the same mistake in other paragraphs). I'll change that!

  4. 2

I understood quickly what the purpose of your product is (prevent churn) but I didn’t understand what Churn Target actually does (use AI to predict behavior) until a few paragraphs down. Cool idea btw!

    1. 1

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to make it clear right after the hero section :)

  5. 2

It looks like an interesting product. And I think the key heading is good, it targets people who have a churn problem and understand what it is.

I was interested in the product but I could not figure out what kind of data you will use and from where it will come. Does your service integrate with something like shopify or do we need to upload data? Basically I understood what you do but could not figure out what the next steps would be or if the product would be right for me.

  6. 2

Non-english speaking people may have hard time to understand the word "churn". I think its perfectly fine to have the word "churn" in the domain name, but in other places you may need to give little more description.

Also the CARDS are all of different height in firefox.

    1. 1

Yes I see, I will use different wordings so that people can understand easily.

      I'll fix that, thanks!

  7. 2

    That's clear and precise. What I suggest;
    #Todo
(A). Create a free churn calculator
(B). before submitting the calculation form ask for email address
(C). Let users submit the form and show them their churn %

    #Objective

    1. There is so much noise about churn, and clarity is important
    2. Users will learn about the dimensions and metrics involved in calculating churn
    3. Users will be able to find out their churn rate instantly without even leaving the website

    #Results
You will end up getting more MQLs (Marketing Qualified Leads)

    1. 1

      Thanks!

I'm not entirely convinced with this:
People would then need to export their customers' data and upload it to my website? I might be wrong but people could be reluctant (because of trust issues)?
I think what would be better is a simple use case showing how they could actually use my tool and benefit from it! What do you think?

      1. 2

I was referring to this kind of DIY calculation https://www.capterra.com/vendors/ppc-bid-calculator

        1. 1

My bad, I totally misunderstood your first comment. I thought you said that I should create a calculator that would tell the visitor which customers are at risk of churning.

This idea of creating a free churn calculator is really great actually! I'll totally do it at one point if I find the time for it!

          Thanks! :)

    Instant reaction:

Yeah it’s something to do with churn. Wasn’t sure if it meant churn for ‘me’, as a customer. Or churn for my customers, meaning I’m using your platform to help them reduce their churn.

Also, everything seemed too small on mobile. Not sure if you’ve done much responsive work on it yet, so ignore this part if you’re not there.

    Good luck!

    Jeky.

    1. 1

Ok I see! I'll put another hero text anyway, I hope it'll be clearer then :)

Yes, I'm guilty for that sorry :( I didn't test it on mobile before putting it here (was in a rush yesterday)

      Thanks!

      1. 2

Wishing you success for your business Victor!  🙌

  9. 2

I think it would be helpful to highlight the integration process your users would have to go through, which is hopefully easy.

    1. 1

Yes, actually the integration is not done yet! I'll be talking to people to know what integration they would like. I'll add a section when it's done!

  10. 2

I understood from the tagline. So I think pretty good! Seems like a cool idea too. Im not big enough to where I need it yet though.

  11. 2

IMHO it's a bit too generic and there by unappealing
As others said there is no example of what type of business would use this and what would they do with that information.
Give me a story as a user of the system, I get that a report and do what with it?
Also how / to what does this integrate? Is this a JS that I just add to a page? does it integrate with my CRM, Payments / other systems? Does it integrate with custom data? what technologies does it support?
Also for AI / statistical system, how much data/time does it need to create a reliable baseline? and from what size should I use it? do I need to have 100 customers or at least 1,000 that have churned?...
Also "Live AI engineer support" to me sounds like a bot is doing the support 😅

BTW the other side of customers might be more interesting psychologically, and might be almost the same to you, can you tell me of customer that exhibit growth/upgrade patterns? ... markup some potential VIPs...

    1. 1

Thanks, I see, I guess with a small use case, visitors will understand easier!

I didn't do the integration part yet actually. I will now be looking for people to know how they would like it to be integrated (from what I read here, CRM integration might be a good idea). Once the integration is operational, I will add a section about it I think.

For the AI, I answered that in a question in my FAQ, but I guess it's not visible enough so visitors might still be looking for this information. I think I'll put a clear message at the top of the pricing page so that people understand that you have to have a certain amount of customers to use it.

Haha, I will rephrase that, I just meant that an engineer, specialized in AI, is here for the support :)

That's actually really interesting! I was more focused on the pain point that represent churn in some businesses (in particular SaaS). It shouldn't need much more work to implement it! I'll note it as a potential new feature!

      Thanks for the feedback :)

  12. 2

Seems like you identify customers that are about to churn. Then extra care can be given to these customers to prevent churn before it happens.

    1. 1

Thanks! You got it right :) I just hope it's clear that I identify those customers, but do not take action myself.

  13. 2

I come from a fairly strong direct marketing background, but to answer you question, yes, I think I understand what your product does when I look at your website. As a side note I think in general this kind of product is needed. Many people focus on acquiring new customers more than focusing on keeping their current ones, but it's typically less expensive to first keep the ones they have.

  14. 2

Hi @Goldriver nice tool and landing page.

    Some suggestions & questions:

    1. Who is this for? You talk about "business" but I think you mean website. In other words are you selling this to a bakery?! I don't think so

"With the help of AI, you will now be able to know which customers are at risk of leaving your business, to focus your efforts on them."

    to

Identify which customers are at risk of leaving your business (maybe it's website?), so that you implement actions to retain them.

    1. I see AI and Algorithm mentioned a lot which may give the impression the tool is overly complicated and difficult to setup, perhaps giving you a high bounce rate.

    2. Have you installed Hotjar to see how customers are behaving?

    3. Which pages do they exit at?

    4. "Artificial Intelligence churn prediction" ----> Intelligent Churn Prediction

    5. I think the two sections with the graphics should come directly after the hero image. The 3x2 matrix seems to be a mix of features and benefits. I would clearly state the benefits from the hero to the next 1 or 2 sections and then add the features, followed by the CTA or testimonials.

    6. "Save money by reducing your churn rate" - Do you save money? I am thinking like, "Capture potential lost sales by prompting users before exiting" or something like that.

    Otherwise the page looks good. Haven't checked SEO or audited keywords;

    Good luck!

    1. 1

      Hey, thanks for your feedback!

      1. Yes, my primary focus are SaaS so I should write it.

      2. Will do that!

      3. Ok, I will try to simplify things a little, and make it clearer for the visitors.

4 and 5. Actually, I put it online right before posting this, so you guys are the first one on my website, I don't have visitors for the moment (and I didn't do SEO yet), but I'll install it today!

      1. Sounds better indeed.

      2. Yes I was thinking about it doing that at first! Guess I'll do it now :)

      3. Also sounds better!

Thanks a lot for your precious feedback!

  15. 2

It should be mobile optimized. I'm guessing most of the visits are from mobile devices.
Other than that, yes I agree with MActivity. You are showing the steak and not the sizzle. You are showing the drill bit and not the quarter inch hole. You are showing the tool, but you are not doing the next step, which is to show the use case of what a business would use the tool for. And specifically how they would use it to alleviate their pain points. Even if you have no customers yet, you can still sell the advantage and not the product. Also, yes AI is a bit patronising, I feel like if you've built something clever you should explain it. "We observe behaviour through automated journeys to uncover a customer on the point of disseminating with your brand. Also, what does churn mean exactly? Like unsubscribe from my podcast app? Or uninstall my clothes buying app? Or not buy from my regular airline? The use case isn't exactly clear

    1. 1

Yes, sorry about that, I didn't test it on the phone before posting here, something's broken. Rookie mistake :(

Ok that's very interesting, I guess I could put a small use case to show visitors what the tool might help them accomplish!

I'm gonna change these AI paragraphs and maybe put more details on how it exactly work!

      Thanks!

  16. 2

Might be unrelated. But I really find that grey + sky blue very annoying and a no-match.

    1. 1

I'm interested in all kind of feedbacks!

I think I will remove one of these, to just stay with either grey or sky blue. I suppose you're referring to the contrast between my last CTA and the footer? I'm not satisfied of these.

      1. 1

I see you made some changes. Looks much better now :)

  17. 2

its good. I would like to see something more interactive - like an example i can click through to understand it better - we get it you reduce churn, How exactly? I am not sure why more people aren't doing this.

Also the talk about AI is real turn off for me lol

    1. 1

      Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I see what you mean, a good example or a walkthrough would be a huge value for the visitors. I'll be working on that!

Haha I understand, a lot of people are surfing on the "AI hype" these days, I could talk about "Machine Learning" instead, or just "Predictive Analysis". What would you prefer?

  18. 2

Overall the design of the page is really good and your use of images are super helpful in communicating your product's value.

The core thing I would critique on this is the copy, specifically the hero text that users will see first. It's grammatically incorrect and I don't think it highlights the key value that your product provides.

put more emphasis on the predictive analytics which would give the value of "being ahead of churn". When I see your product, I see it as something that will allow me to be proactive about churn, not just identify it's segments.

Really uncover the pain point of churning customers and how your product solves that. Some good copy might be "fix churn before it happens", "Use predictive analytics to identify at-risk customers and retain revenue"

also, on another note: integrating with CRM and marketing technologies would be awesome for your product. If at-risk customers could automatically be enrolled in an email sequence based off of your analysis it would provide super unique value.

    1. 1

      Thanks for the feedback.
Indeed, the hero text should be changed, I'll follow your advice! I like "Fix churn before it happens".

Integrating it with a CRM would be perfect! Unfortunately, I never did integration with CRM so I don't even know if it's possible, considering how many different CRM are available out there :/ But I'll look into it!
