Since it has been mentioned in some comments in the past. But I'm still curious. Do you use the "business model canvas" method to evaluate and try your hypotheses?
If yes:
Do you rework and refine it? In which timeframe?
If no:
Why not? Just gut-feeling and trying how it turns out?
Yes, I start with a business model canvas.
It helps to keep your thinking organized and forces to take a more scientific approach to product development.
When I do the first draft, it's all hypothesis, and I keep it iterating over time. Because after I talk to my customers, and run a few tests, my value proposition may change or the channels I thought would work, seem to be the wrong ones. So you kinda need to keep it updated from time to time.
Thanks for the reply.
Sounds good. I do it for the exact same reason. It also helps me to keep focus and at least set some goals which are really helpful when you don't have a co-founder that challenges decisions.
Definitely, like the name says, its a canvas ... which you can and should paint on. :)
