I’ve been thinking about the way we consume news and blogs these days.
For a long time I stopped using RSS but lately I’ve quite enjoyed it as a quick way to aggregate multiple news sources and blogs.
So now I’m curious about how much of an outlier I am: How many of you (still) use an RSS reader at least semi frequently?
And if you’ve permanently left RSS in the rear view mirror, what do you prefer to use instead?
I used to use RSS feeds quite a lot, but fell out of using them for several reasons (now have a commute so I listen to podcasts, use aggregators like news.ycombinator, etc.)
I still use and love it via Feedbin → Reeder. Mostly I catch-up once a week via the iPad app.
I rely heavily on RSS. https://feedbin.com/ is a great product I’m using just now. $5 a month but well worth it for how much I use it
Definitely my preferred way of consuming content, since Google killed it's RSS reader it took me sometime to find one alternative although many popped up.
I end up using https://feedly.com/ for convenience and sticked to it, i mainly consume it on mobile though. Lacks some features as for example offline reading, but it does it's job
What is the next canceled Google product that i find useful?.....Google bookmarks i would say :P
Google Reader was great. Such a bummer they canceled it.
