I've tried multiple task management products(including post-it notes) and I'm not pleased with them. Seems like they all keep you away from your project.
LOL! I have the same thought. I try to use tools to boost productivity but if they are cumbersome or unintuitive, I delete them. I'm currently trying out Pagico for the mac. One tool I like for freelance work is Billings. It has a built-in timer which I can use for personal projects. I used MacOS' Reminders app for a to-do list. For managing tasks working for clients, I'm okay with Trello.
kanbanflow is good. Very, very simple trello-like system.
