Sometimes I think podcasts are too long. For some knowledge podcasts or global news podcasts, I want to know the information quickly but they always take an hour or more.
Do you want podcast summary or podcast search engine?
If people can make money out of book summaries I see no reason there shoudn't be a summary to podcast episodes. I think I'm going to create one now..
Nice! But how do you create summaries of all podcasts?

Do things that don't scale.
Review manually the best podcast episodes that you love listening to. Don't just transcribe them, put your own words into it.
Honestly, the transcripts like we can access here are the best addition I've seen in a long time. I'm using to driving and listening, then downloading if I want to follow up on something I heard, then re-listening when I'm at my desk to "find that spot where they said that thing..." Now, for the IndieHackers podcast I just remember which one, and then do a quick search in the transcript to get the details on what I was most interested in. A summary of that may miss what I wanted to focus on, but a search engine that produced snippets from a transcript would be great.
Yeah I also want to find some spots but spending too much time. Do you know any podcast transcription tools?
Great idea. It's a real frustration of mine that there's no way to "scan" a podcast and get to the important stuff.
I was just thinking about this yesterday. 20 minutes into the podcast and no actual insights, just random and non-related stuff.
