Do you want to take over an abandoned side project?

Hey fellow indie hackers,
Like most of you here, I too have a problem of conceiving ideas, building a minimum viable product, marketing it, gaining decent traction, and then shifting my attention and efforts to a completely different project (which always seems more exciting, doesn't it? 🙈)

I have a couple of abandoned side projects that are MVPs with a good number of users at the time when I was actively running them (none of them have generated any money though).

I want to know if there's any (aspiring) indie maker who would like to take over my abandoned side project and run it? This set up differs from buying side projects because these projects haven't been monetized yet and taking over such side projects will be free of cost. It will give the indie maker taking over the project, a chance to run a side project that has already been built (to a certain level). There can be an arrangement to share earnings if the project is eventually monetized.

I keep reading a lot about indie makers having a lot of abandoned side projects, and I would like to know if y'all will use a platform that helps you find indie makers who are willing to take over and run your abandoned side projects and possibly monetize them?

Based on a suggestion by @txn3735, I have created a group for this purpose - https://www.indiehackers.com/group/abandoned-indie-projects

    Hey -

I think it would be beneficial to start a group on IH to list these abandoned projects needing a new owner. Just a thought.

        Thanks. Just joined.

Hi Adith. I did check out your posts on the group, Twitter, and even Medium.

I don't find any "couple of abandoned side projects that are MVPs". How can I reach out to you? Or you can right away schedule any time you're comfortable with.

Hey Dinakar, I've posted on Indie Hackers in the past, seeking feedback for ideas that were MVPs. Also, you can check out the 'Made' section in my profile on Product Hunt to know about some of the projects that I've worked on. You can reach out to me on Twitter :)

Maybe that’s your next startup. Marketplace for abandoned side projects

Hopefully 🤷‍♂️ I'll start out by creating a group on IH and testing viability, before building something myself

Can you list your side project and some details related to it ? It might benefit others too
