Do you wear a watch?

I love wearing watches. I've previously worn only watches that were vintage-style analog with a metal strap.

However, the problem seems to be they scratch my laptop when I code.

I hate looking at the time using my phone because it distracts me.

Not sure if I'm the only one who has this tiny issue, but I wonder do Indiehackers wear watches anymore, or is it a thing of the past?

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for a smart watch as well.

I really wanted to advise you a Casio watch, but if you don't like metal watches because they scratch your laptop then there is a solution to this problem: you can change the strap to leather and your problems will disappear. However, if you need a smart watch, then I recently saw in a pawnshop newbondstreetpawnbrokers.com smart watches from Samsung and decided to read about them. They have a lot of functions and they will be perfectly suitable for programmers. The minus of the watch is that they need to be charged like a phone, but their battery lasts much longer. I would recommend you to buy a watch from Samsung, and if you have an iPhone, then it's best to buy a watch from Apple.

I started to wear Apple Watch ever since I decided to lose weight. I think it has great design to help users keep healthy and handle some basic stuff without a phone.

I do wear an Apple Watch, with a fabric strap as to not scratch anything.
However, the watch is extremely locked down to health and emergency notifications and only shows temperature and time as not to distract me.

I used fitness band, never faced issue of scratching. My primary purpose of buying it was to have alerts when I sit idle for so long, especially while coding.

I don't. I'm always using PC. Other places, look at phone. I don't want watches.

I agree that phone distracts me and watches are more comfortable than phone. But I just don't want to use money for it and manage (buy, repair, use, take off) watches. So I think that it's important each one likes watches or not to have it.

Watch is a big time-saver (no pun intended), compared to the phone, since it prevents distraction and time wasted checking all recent apps' popups.

If your problem is scratching the laptop, why not take it off when coding? Any OS will have the time shown somewhere.

And finally, what worked for me is to get a rubber watch strap, there are nice options that can go even with vintage-style pieces.
