I started hiring people for my business earlier this year and there are now 7 of us full-time scattered around the US, Europe, and (most recently) Southeast Asia.
I want to build a cohesive culture and ensure the team is able to effectively communicate, but being in vastly different timezones makes this especially tough.
So, I'm curious if any of you work in all-remote, global teams? How do you build a company culture? Effectively communicate?
I look forward to hearing your best practices.
Really good Slack comms, weekly calls with Donut.com, and lots of writing. (I work at Vercel and we're entirely remote & globally distributed)
Writing is definitely key.
How often do y'all do live calls? I've been trying to limit them, but obviously they do help build rapport.
We have a lot of calls to be honest, but they’re not very formal and the group size is smaller.
