Documenting build progress via social media?

I am trying a new approach for getting current projects noticed by posting daily to social media. For https://delaynote.com, I'm posting snippets of the web-builder features, nothing technical, just visuals of the front-end. Personally, I'm finding myself more productive to get work done - knowing I need to keep up with daily content!

Has anyone else tried this approach before? Did you find it effective in bringing attention to your project before MVP?

PS: If anyone wants to watch the progress of a website builder being built in VueJS, give me a follow - http://instagram.com/delaynote/ 🙌

This is an awesome way to hold yourself accountable. Never done this before, mostly because I'm not courageous enough, but I will try this for my next project!

Maybe hashtag things with #indiehackers on Instagram (and elsewhere) to help others find and follow each other?

Great idea Rosie! I shall start using them in my next posts.

Same. I started Instagram about May last year. Just bored and curious. Random pics. Then later, my Instagram use evolved into posting progress of whatever current project I'm working on.

Yes, it has helped me. Gotten tips and advice, made new "friends" that share the same interests, and yes... making things happen because you want to share your excitement on milestones, or feeling proud of your handiwork, etc.

It kinda also served as a visual diary for me, when you're down and thinking you haven't accomplished anything. Then you look back, and Oh yeah, I remember that and see all the new stuff you've learned or accomplished.

    I'll follow you, here's mine - https://www.instagram.com/owel.codes/

      Hey! Followed you back :)

That's great to hear you are having some success. I see it as a visual diary too to show how far your project has grown. Will keep a look out on your page as dabbled with music electronics in the past too!
