Documenting my learning to code an app/bot/site/project journey
In 2016 I was heavily inspired by IndieHacker stories and wanted to start something on the side and using code to do it. Unfortunately my skills are not there yet.
So in 2017 I want to use every day to build my skills in order to launch an idea that I have this year. It's a bot, for Facebook Messenger and I want to learn JavaScript with it, also because I think it's a helpful skill to have.
In order to keep myself accountable I'm documenting my process on Snapchat, so if you're interested in following my ups and downs in becoming a maker, join along!

Very cool, where are your coding skills at now? Are you just starting out from scratch?
So I have a basic set of skills, but I'm still struggling with certain concepts and building something from start to finish. I know my way around ruby on rails a bit, but since I want to code a bot, javascript seems like a good investment + I've always wanted to learn it :)
I would suggest making a blog with a list and documenting your journey of code ;) medium is just a distribution channel, what is valuable is actually an engaged reader

Why Snapchat?
The pressure of doing a properly edited video on YouTube is still very daunting and sounds like a lot of work. With Snapchat I can show bits and pieces and still package a vlog into it.
The downside to Snapchat is that a lot of people aren't on it (I never check it myself), so maybe consider duplicating your efforts to make them viewable on the web if possible
Yes! Saving all snaps for now and will try to embed them somewhere on the web too.
