Does a different look for blog vs main site hurt UX?

Blog and main site sometimes don't share the same stack, meaning different look and feel ie different theme. Is this bad ux? How much can they deviate? Should color pallete match or can it be roughly the same? Thoughts?

I noticed many company blogs use different fonts to make texts easier to read. So this inconsistency actually helps.

doesn't matter a huge deal unless your a huge brand with crazy budget
many smaller/medium companies point to a 2nd site that has little in common visually, the minimum is like the name and sometimes the logo.
next level might be colour pallets especially for background items, but it might be worst rather than better if it's a half job.

Except you know what you do, I strongly recommend keeping the design of landing page and blog consistent in terms of colors, typography, and branding.
