Does AI Know Your SaaS Exists?

I’ve been asking myself this question more and more lately:

Does AI know your SaaS exists?

Not “can Google find you” — but when someone asks ChatGPT or another AI tool for recommendations in your space… does your product even come up?

For context, I’m the solo founder of SERPtag, and I spend most of my time thinking about visibility — both in traditional search and now inside AI tools.

Why this question matters now:

1. Discovery is changing
People are skipping Google for some searches and going straight to AI. If your SaaS isn’t mentioned there, you’re invisible in that moment.

2. No click doesn’t mean no impact
AI tools often give answers without sending traffic. That means brand visibility matters even when analytics don’t show it.

3. AI has its own “ranking logic”
It’s not just backlinks and DR. AI looks at how consistently your product is referenced, explained, and positioned across the web.

How AI learns about your SaaS:

1. Content clarity
Clear explanations of what your product does, who it’s for, and what problem it solves matter more than clever marketing copy.

2. Consistent mentions
If your product is talked about across blogs, forums, comparison posts, and communities, AI is more likely to surface it.

3. Strong SEO foundations
Ranking still matters. Good SEO feeds AI visibility. If you’re invisible on Google, AI probably won’t pick you up either.

What I’m doing differently now:

I don’t just ask “what keywords am I ranking for?”

I also ask:

Is my product being referenced by AI tools?
For what use cases?
Am I showing up in the right conversations?

That’s why I focus on both rank tracking and AI visibility when growing SERPtag.

My take:

If AI doesn’t know your SaaS exists,
it doesn’t matter how good your product is.

Visibility is no longer just about search engines.
It’s about answers.
