Does anyone have experience with AppSumo Free Deals?

Hello IH-fellows!
I'm currently in negotiation with AppSumo to launch a campaign.

They recommend me to launch a "free deal" campaign (12 months free access to Achieved) instead of the traditional lifetime xx€ deal.

Does anyone has an experience with this free offer? I can't find any online reviews.
