I am asking this because I am planning to build this tool, so if there are any people who are already using some kind of a similar product or person who would like to use one, please tell me what would be your advices on the product? :) Thanks.
Hypefury is a pretty popular one for Twitter. I'm working on something similar for LinkedIn.
What will your product do exactly (if it is not a secret)?
Do you do a some kind of validation work like asking people in groups about the product, creating landing page, etc.?
The first milestone is to automate posts. I've asked LinkedIn power users what they thought of the idea with additional features I think could help them. A person expressed interest.
Since this would be my first saas product I just want to ship something and not spend more time on validating.
Sounds good but aren't there already such services?... If so, why not try to invest on that 10% market they are not in? (not sure what it is...)
Yea I think that's a better way to go about it. However, I really wanted to keep the research to a minimum.
I had planned to first start selling it as a discounted LTD. If there are some sales, I'd get feedback from people who just wanted a reliable scheduler and start iterating from there. If there's 0 sales, then I'll think harder about the angle I'm coming from on this type of product. I might also just release the MVP for free and see what happens.
One thing I realized is that even though there are already such services, that means the demand is there, so I believe some people can find it useful.
I also believe in going for existing markets as an indie hacker. But, I have made a lot of competition research to identify holes in the offerings. Then i made a presentation with mockups and called a lot of people to get feedback on pay level they are willing to pay. That was my MVP. I am soon launching it a silent launch to these customers which i kept in touch. Good luck.
That sounds great. Wondering if you could have even pitched them for a deposit in exchange for a better price + early release access + responsive customer support. I still feel like you could try, what do you think?
The price for the service is low as 50$/mo and my customers are tech businesses so there is really no point. Their attention is worth more. Now, if I would be asking for 12k$/year plus then a letter of intent that goes straight to an investor plus 1 or 2 co founders. But back to reality as a solo indie hacker at this time their attention is more than I would have hoped for.
Good luck!
Best of luck with your project
Thanks!
