Does anyone use Webinars as a user acquisition channel?

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried to use webinars and virtual events as an acquisition channel for their product(s) and if they have, what sort of success have you found in it?

We did this a lot and very consistently over the past few years with Ministry of Testing.

Every month, without fail we would host two sessions. A Masterclass and an AMA. It took a while to build up, but without effort now they get hundreds registering, not low hundreds either. 400-800.

Upon registering they are asked whether they want to be added to our mailing list. This is a way of trying to capture newer people.

Wow! That's amazing , I've come across Ministry of Testing before, I worked as a Test Analyst previously. Is MoT a for profit organisation? Why did it collect emails?

It's a for profit company, but it has a true community focus. The goal is not to make lots of money, but equally the goal is to be good sustainable company, so money needs to be made.

Any modern business should be collecting emails where relevant, to help communicate things that are going on.

That's really interesting, of course emails are a standard now for all businesses.

I'm working on this Q&A / AMA platform but focussed on helping organisations better understand what topics resonate with the audience, who are the most engaged and interactive participants and then using this information to find warm leads / create better content etc.

I'd love to keep you in the loop and when we launch you can play around with it. Please join the waiting list here: https://newny.io.

And as always, thank you for your input Rosie! 😊
