Does content marketing still work for indie products in 2026

I keep seeing founders say “blogging is dead” and “only social works now.”

But I’m seeing the opposite — simple, problem-solving content still brings high-intent users, even without a big audience.

I’ve been quietly testing this by publishing straightforward, human-written articles (no AI fluff, no over-SEO).

Early observations:

Fewer visitors, but better retention
Readers spend more time on pages that feel “written by a human”
Search traffic grows slower, but feels more stable

I’m documenting the experiment here:

Curious — what’s working for you right now?

SEO?
Social?
Communities?

Or is content actually dead?
