or to a % of a reduction of a monthly membership ? Even thinking of "$" or Token model.
A kind of "The more you contribute the more you get" saas model ?
A model where member content as answers, article, great threads, initiated by a member could be automaticly gratified into some kind of points, money, etc ?
A little bit like Discourse propose into its forums but in Saas mode and maybe not like a platform but more like a Stripe thing for community builders ?
I think about that because communities which propose huge leverages for their members are kind of influencers houses. They offer both great collective knowledge and huge network opportunities because at the beginning, the initial members have already their own communities. But how to incentivate those who contributes the most ?
If someone one to continue to think about this idea with me, DM me anytime.
When cryptocurrencies exploded a few years ago, I saw a few communities launch their own blockchain-powered tokens to reward members for engagement. A prime example is Steemit (steem.com).
The only problem that I see with this model is that any platform that directly incentivizes engagement at scale will likely fall prey to people (and bots) that game the system for cash. That's not to say it can't be done though!
I'd be curious how you'd approach moderation and community-building to ensure that people are producing valuable content and not just automating clicks or dumping low-quality content into members' feeds.
I've not really come across any, but if in true indie founder style, there is no reason you couldn't share revenue with small communities as an experiment.
I'm doing this with Rosieland, sharing revenue with people who are helping me build it up. It's experimental and not open to everyone, but for me it's a way to get others on board and hopefully share the rewards.
I had thought about sharing revenue with all members, but tbh, it's too overwhelming to think about. Gotta start small.
I have seen this only in Flarum. An extension called Money does it.
Hey, yes you can do this with Tribe.
On the free plan, they have 'Reputation' and 'Virtual currency' apps that allow you to do exactly as described above. Works super well for engagement and retention.
Not many that I know of. There's an extension called "Money" for Flarum that does this. The more you contribute, the more points you get, points can be converted to money.
Sorry I miss to put this post into the community builders group
I moved the post into 'Community Building' for you.
