Hey all!
I’ve built an MVP called Logtivity.io. It’s a SAAS Event Logging service for Wordpress.
I had the itch to build it a while ago when a client was having trouble with the plugin Simple History. They were logging around 100k actions per month and it was getting slower and slower/leading to timeouts while running exports of logs etc. Logtivity stored the logs externally and added extra functionality such as Alerting, more powerful filtering and the ability to create charts based in the logs.
They are now my one and only paid user! I have a couple of other beta users too.
I’d really appreciate any feedback at all. I’m specifically wondering if this solves a big enough problem/if there is enough of a market for it.
Cheers!
Just curious - why do people need logs?
I should probably make this more clear on the website! Certainly most sites most likely don’t.
The most common scenario I’ve seen so far is companies that have multiple employees logging in and making changes to a website. This can be helpful to some organisations to have a paper trail for debugging and audit purposes.
The second scenario I’ve seen is with membership sites/sites that generate a lot of user activity needing a paper trail of things like sign ups, cancellations, downloads, postings etc. This can be helpful for metrics, debugging, providing support etc.
In that case, I would say that archive is one of the most important features. Therefore, I personally would standardize how long the log is retained across the pricing plans and I would increase it to one year with an additional way to archive continually.
