Hey IH,
My Cofounder and I built capsule: https://capsule.click
we recently pivoted our app from a generic chrome extension to a specific B2B SaaS use case.
The product is now an easy point-and-click web tool for creating sandbox environments of your web app. We want to sell it to SaaS marketing teams who're always looking for optimizations to bring in more prospects.
I'd love to get your feedback. If you have the time I'd love it if you could answer the following two question:
Here's the link again:

Also, if you're curious on what our product used to be:

Hey @yiblet,
I work on Product Marketing. I have to do a lot of demos. So, I see the value of this.
I was STUNNED when I saw that it wasn't a video and it was an actual application I can play with.
While I get the use case, complicated B2B SaaS apps normally have someone (Sales Engineer normally) demo the actual product to the customer in real-time. This also helps them answer questions that can really WOW the customer.
Ex: Let's say I do my demo and they ask but what if wanted to add someone on a task, I can show them that and they'll be impressed. That is where I think your product is slightly weak. They'd have to look for some query or read documentation instead of asking a person.
Sandbox environments are fantastic as a lead capture / marketing acquisition tool. Many companies have trouble establishing this. Perhaps, that is a use case you can fit into perfectly. I don't know of anyone doing this right now but it would be really valuable. If I can give you my email and then go in and play around with the tool, that'll convince me to get in touch with sales who can further that conversation. This worked well in the past (https://meraki.cisco.com/form/demo/) - However, it went into disuse since the Eng. team maintaining it got other priorities.
If you could come in and say, I'll maintain your sandbox or make it easier for you to host your sandbox, then I can see how that might be interesting to B2B companies.
Anyway, that was my thought.
What you've built is really cool. I think you've done a great job of incorporating a lot of the good feedback :) Good luck with everything!
To be helpful to you, I suggest you make this your headline, big and bold across the top:
"Capsule lets your team build interactive sandboxes where users can touch and feel the product."
the design of your page looks weird because the top above-the-fold typography and design is different from everything below.
Center your main product demo, don't bump it to the right like that.
Do more writing to explain the product. You don't HAVE to have a conversion button above the fold.
put the "how it works" module above the product demo.
change "this is not a video" to "This is not a video — this is the product in action!"
just some ideas for you. :)
We've made a lot of changes to the landing page since you've given feedback. But I think you're ideas are still really useful. Right now, I think the biggest thing that I noticed is that a lot of people still don't get what the product does even after getting a good look at the website.
I'm gonna go with your idea of putting the how it works section up the page. I think that's a great idea. Perhaps that'll fix it.
Whoa, you had me at the "this is not a video". I thought about how you could inject a script to control the interactions inside an iframe, and concluded you must have copied the pages and all its elements. Sure enough, that's what you did. Thorough work.
Want to help me understand something about the potential buyer? What struggling situation would they be in right before they consider searching for something like this? What does the "enough is enough" moment look like? What are they saying "no" to in order for them to say "yes" to Capsule?
I think that's a really interesting question. Frankly I'm not exactly sure what the answer to it is. The prospective customers all had different stories as to why they were interested in the tool. Often there wasn't some specific competing product they were switching away from but just a problem they wanted solved.
I saw a red box saying there's an error with capsule... the page loads quite slowly. Why don't you download this free super-fast PWA landing page template that you can quickly configure for your own landing page? Don't forget to share the love. https://mprify.com
Hey,
When I opened it, firstly I though wtf is this. And then goes BOOM wow how does it work?? That's brilliant!
A couple of comments:
My "Aha!" moment came after I've looked at "This Is Not A Video". However before that I've firstly read "Give Your Prospects A Demo They Won’t Forget", then tried to understand what is shown on the video, and only after I've looked above it and seen this slogan. Maybe it's worth putting it to the left, according to the sequence how users usually read your content?
What "feel and touch the product" means? I've clicked on it, and it just opened me this page. Does it mean that the "not a video" gives me an opportunity to look at the animations of how the buttons behave when I direct my cursor there? Or is it doing something else?
Shorter - technology looks interesting, however I struggle to understand (1) what problem it solves and (2) who can be the main user segment to use it.
Sorry, for the super late response but yeah very valid points. We removed the two headlines and went straight for a single one that's centered on a direct use case.
I liked the concept.
However, I (personally) feel that the webpage content could be more simple and direct.
Here's an example:
1 This Is Not A Video.
2 It's a Capsule. Create sandboxes for you to share your product.
3 It's interactive. Try using your mouse in the Capsule below.
After reading 1, I am like, "uh huh! ok...". And now I am expecting an answer as to what is it if it's not a video. But 2, the next sentence, doesn't provide me a definite answer. It introduces a new term, "Capsules". So the question still lingers on in my mind and I also have a new term to deal with now. Next, you are telling me to create a sandbox for myself. But, sentence 3 tells me that (probably) capsules are interactive and I can experience it below.
So:
The attention span of users are very less these days. You have to get to the point fast; very fast. Otherwise they will leave your website and never return.
In my opinion, this sentence from the page explains your product with a clear value proposition attached to it:
Ditch the screenshots and the videos. Put together an interactive experience of your app in minutes.
I hope this helps you in rethinking how you put forth your product. Sorry to nitpick though, my intention was to help.
Please feel free to bug me if you want any content related help. I would love to do it (for free of course).
Thanks Ruso! We ended up taking your advice. We dropped that whole user flow for something more well streamlined.
I think this is super cool, and I would say the landing page definitely gives me an idea of what the product does. That being said, I think I was expecting it to be more interactive? Like, since that demo is Trello, I was wondering if I could drag cards around or something- and the experience is a little weird, because when I tried clicking on a thing, it ended up opening a new tab to the actual trello board. It's not very clear to me what parts of an app would end up being interactive, and what parts wouldn't - and I think it would probably be less clear to a non-technical person.
So, while this seems super cool to me, I feel like the page could be a little more convincing re: how you think this is superior to a nice video. Either way, great job building this out so far! I think you're definitely onto something.
Wow I really like your product. I think the way you present things it is very clear. "This is not a Video" made me immediately want to click around in the iframe area.
Looking at the picture of acme.com it took me a second to realize it was not your site. What I think might be useful is to circle or highlight the purple circles and draw a line out side the image with a caption say something "show users the exact clicks" or "lead users through a process". I would also maybe add a header and say "Your Site Here" kinda thing.
Great work though. I will keep your product in mind for demo's, I think that this will be really great for like user documentation on how to do things in a site!
