Does this make me a real indihacker?
I've been a serial builder for years. The problem is I have built and never launched. Part of it is that I'm a busy dad of 2 that is also managing a career at one of the worlds largest SaaS companies as a Senior Innovation Marketing Manager. Needless to say, I'm busy.
But being entirely honest, I haven't officially launched anything for 2 reasons:
- Fear of putting yourself out there. Lot's of self doubt. Not feeling as though I belong.
- Building in the dark - I had exactly 0 Twitter followers, was mainly a lurker on Indihackers and didn't interact with the community.
I shifted my mindset to focus on ⚡️little wins⚡️ and I've finally made some big breakthroughs.
Since October here is a small timeline of my Little wins.. when looking at them collectively, it's a lot of progress:
- Joined Twitter (gained 140 followers) and became a contributing member of the indi community
- Build and soft launched Zoomscape AI getting my first ever real USER that wasn't family (over 20 new users to date)
- First Customer 🥳 - Made my first $10 from indihacking
- Over 100 Images created from users on Zoomscape AI
These are small milestones, yes. What you can't see in the few bullet points is all the new capabilities I've learned, the excitement and encouragement from my wife who was sick of watching me build and never launch, and the self confidence that I am more than capable of achieving the goal of freedom for me and my Family.
Major thanks to this awesome community. Such an incredible and supportive corner of the internet.
Oh, so close to mine thoughts. To be honest, I am not a newbie on Twitter, I have the original account since 2009, but new one I created for spreading me experience on English. And you know, I used to build projects as well, also participating in open source and I reached a good results, but indie making is another story. And the best thing that I extremely love is community. Projects are also awesome, but the most important are people who behind that projects.

Not sure if that was intentional.
Also, I would drop the "does this make me a TRUE entrepreneur/indiehacker".
What I noticed is that those are arbitrary labels assigned for marketing purposes to those selling "entrepreneur lifestyle" as part of their own business.
I would just define "indiehacker" as anyone who is working on a project without much resources. As a busy dad of 2, even if you've just developed some ideas and haven't launched, I'd still say you're an "indiehacker"
But again, I would not constrain yourself with those labels.
Also curious to see what your AI app does, since I'm also building an AI project called Evoke. We host open source AI models on the cloud accessible through API for developers making AI apps. Currently finishing up our stable diffusion API.
Really think AI apps will see a big boom this year.

Oh, nice application of DALLE-2! I think stable diffusion might be better for what you're looking to do btw. API costs for the latter are much cheaper for the same quality.
Also, some advice, I would recommend showing your pricing on your site rather than just have "try for free". Customers really appreciate transparent pricing.
We're actually almost done releasing our stable diffusion API at https://evoke-app.com/. We'll probably have a background generator model on there soon after launch that'll be great for something like this, and it'll probably cost less than a cent per image.
Think our discord server would love to hear about this project, so feel free to share it there. It's also a good place to stay tuned for our launch besides our website newsletter.
