Hey!
Me and my friend created an upcoming product page as we are launching soon. We thought it would bring 100 subscribers easily but we only have 18. And it's been up for almost 2 weeks.
I am not sure if it's due to poor promotion of this section on Product Hunt or is it our product's fault. I would say it's the first one.
I thought that we pay for a marketing tool (getting some waiting list signups) and it seems like we payed for a signup form...
Does any of you have similar experience or is it just me?
I had a shot at the upcoming page but wasn't really much helpful. I found out Twitter and PH discussions to be a better place for traffic and inquiries though.
Thanks for sharing. I'm experimenting with PH discussions as well and I'm planning to work on my twitter. We'll see how it goes but I was aiming for a more massive outreach.
I actually had pretty good results with the Upcoming list, I was able to get around 800 emails, and maybe 700 of those appear to be legit–there are definitely some bots to watch out for. I did drive some traffic to that page outside of PH, but I believe a decent number did come from the PH list itself
Wow, congrats! That's a lot. How long did it take you to gather that many emails? And which of your 3 projects was it for?
It happens. The only game on the product hunt is getting on the first page.
I guess you have used their landing page tool for getting subscribers. I would suggest promoting on different platforms like beta list, killer startups, etc. to drive traffic to your landing page.
Yeah, we managed to make it to #4 Product of the day with our other project. It drove quite some traffic and new signups. That's why we got encouraged to try the Upcoming Product feature. Unfortunately it turns out it's nothing compared to main page at PH.
