Does your team / department use sheets?
The past 2 companies I've been working for, have relied on using Google sheets to organize their team / departments on going projects & tasks.
I'd just like to know if others on here are using a similar workflow, and if you are, why you haven't used a management / project tracking tool instead.
Is it because Google sheets does everything you want, for free?

I've uses Google sheets at my previous three workplaces. It's easy to use, others in the team know how to use it as well and the most importantly it's a huge time saver.
The other tool that I've used at my work places and comes close to Google sheets is Trello.
It is quick, online, complex yet easier-to-use tool. Not only it is free, but features like quick sharing, multi-user editing also makes it prominent.
I was using google sheets for 5 years at the last company I worked at. And for 4.8 of those years I built the sheets we used. Meaning I wrote scripts and workedout workflows as well as designed them for easier reading and data flow and output.
For a team of 30 ppl Google Sheets always worked.
I then used Asana on a recent project, 2 of us, and didnt even last 3 months using it. It was overkill. A few nice reminders and i could see it works well for those who put in the effort.

That's an interesting experience with Asana. Since it was just 2 of you, after you tried Asana did you just revert back to using sheets?
To be honest we've reverted to email and loom.com
It's just the two of us, working on one project. Sure there's a lot of "stuff" to manage. but we're in heads down build mode now and just keep going forward on whatever it is we're building on at that moment.
We've finally gotten down to the literal MVP and just building that.. very straightforward. Not trying to manage user interviews, or priorities. Just building.
I bet we'll return to Asana as soon as we launch this build. Because it will absolutely get messy. I don't think Google Sheets can handle what we're doing and I don't have myself to massage google sheets for me and this project.
