Does your team use PagerDuty & Slack? Any feedback on our v1?

We kept hearing, "Why does it seem like PagerDuty's developer experience hasn't improved in years?" And we know from first-hand experience that on-call is already painful enough. So, we started building tools to help.

My 2 co-founders and I have talked with dozens of engineers. Engineering managers told us they spend too much time helping to coordinate on-call schedules. So, we've started SunChaser as a Slack app for PagerDuty users that helps individual team members stay current on their on-call responsibilities, handoffs, and scheduling issues - like coverage requests. So managers can focus on more impactful work.

Our first couple of users have been really happy with the tool, so I am hoping to get more feedback and thoughts from outside our circle of "friendlies". We're just getting started, and any and all feedback is helpful! You can see our homepage at https://sunchaser.io/ – installing only takes 2 clicks. It's free for everyone until we feel like we've landed on the value that folks are willing to pay for (so now's a good time to try it out with no obligations, no credit card, etc.).

Or fill out the poll, as we're considering building integrations for additional on-call systems.

So let me know your thoughts or ideas, I'm looking forward to learning and making our on-call experience better together.

What on-call software do you use?
  1. PagerDuty
  2. OpsGenie / Atlassian
  3. BetterUpTime
  4. Other (share in the comments!)
