Domain Age vs Registration History: What Every SEO Should Know

One thing I've learned while evaluating domains is that the "creation date" alone doesn't tell the whole story.

A domain can appear old but have expired, dropped, and been re-registered multiple times. That changes how I think about its history, trust, and potential SEO value.

Now, before considering a domain for a project, backlink, or acquisition, I always check its continuous registration history rather than relying on a single WHOIS creation date.

It's surprising how many domains that look well-established actually have significant gaps in ownership.

Curious how others verify domain history before making SEO or investment decisions. Are you looking beyond the creation date?

Nice approach—spoofing tools are underrated for catching localization issues. I once discovered my site was showing wrong phone numbers in a specific city because of a misconfigured Google Business Profile. Have you automated this checking into a regular workflow?
