Don't be afraid to hire freelancers

In a remote work, unstable, talent shortage world, freelancers abound, and as Andrew Gazdecki, the erstwhile founder of Microacquire, writes: "Learning how to use marketplaces like UpWork and Fiverr to find really great talent is a competitive advantage for startups."

This incredible thread by Colin Landforce describes some of the best ways to go about hiring a freelance dev - as a sales and finance operator with some rudimentary coding skills, this has been a lifesaver for me.

Indie hacking and micro startups are about niching down and producing a product or service that squarely serves a defined market. The same ethos applies to talent - focus on your own strengths as a founder, and outsource anything that you're less proficient at.

This generally requires that your startup is producing revenue. The minute that you have some recurring revenue, invest in your growth by outsourcing some of the work and leveraging your own skills. Compound that growth, compound that revenue.
