Don't waste time searching for a cofounder

I am not going to mince words. If you have an idea, business idea, or start-up idea as a non-technical person. Don’t waste time looking for a co-founder, spend that time learning no-code tools and building your products. There is a higher probability you will find someone ready to be your co-founder (if you still need one) when you have a product and they see how dedicated you are to making it work. Most people waste time in the ‘I am searching for a co-founder phase without validating or building out their products. That search phase is a dead zone. I won’t even write about everything that can go wrong when are searching for a co-founder, that searching phase is sometimes fueled by desperation but that’s not the point of this tweet. The main point is; to start building your idea and most especially validate it fast. If you are bothered about whether nocode will scale, the following are facts; you have no product yet, you have no users yet, you have the means to validate your idea and you are not taking it. People are building their businesses, profitable 7 figure businesses all with nocode stack. You can’t scale with 0 users.
Now, I understand the nocode platforms are much, you need to figure out what platform is right for your idea, as all these platforms have different solutions/use cases, also with the fact that nocode tools learning curve is real, you might not want to grow through the risk and uncertainties. Better still, you might need a professional no-code developer to build your idea so you can be assured of a good MVP launch. This isn’t a problem, there are a lot of no-code dev agencies and studios that you can choose from.

1000% agree. Just go alone, and hire contractors instead of giving up equity.

Where did you eventually find your contractors? I'm looking into upwork but dont know if there's something else out there

Upwork is a good place to start. Or, even here on IH. I found my first contractor through a connection that I had on LinkedIn.

I learnt this the hard way when I ran two businesses.

I don't even know why some people are looking for co-founders. It never crossed my mind.
By reading this article I'd guess it's because they alone have no skills to realise their ideas and need a help with that.

btw it seems like there's a lot of no-code promotions.

Yes, they usually don't know. Also, most times all these techcrunch articles, incubators, or accelerators always favour start ups with co-founders. Although, I think that is changing now. Also, non-technical founders just don't know.

      1. 1

It's like they are looking for skilled person to do heavy lifting (in terms of coding) and that person is currently unoccupied and just waiting for them to ask him.
        What's a chance of that :D

Those people that they are looking for are most likely pretty busy, already making good use of their skills/talent.

This is a valuable point. However, the optimal way to go also depends on the technicality of the project.
The division of labor lies in the very origis of progress. You don't necessarily have to spend time learning to execute on your own if you have other valuable entrepreneurial skills.

Yes, I agree with you. That was why I also mentioned using dev agencies. I personally run a nocode and design development agency. I get approached by nontechnical founders, the backstory of some isn't palatable. I also have my share of not so good experiences too.

Don't waste time. Start your journey right away.

Exactly... people won't literally launch and start solving problems they don't have yet.
