DOs/DO-NOTs for hiring writers on Fiverr

I've tried almost everything for outsourcing content writers but I'm going to talk about Fiverr first

My experience below is for B2B content marketing. If you're B2C lifestyle, beauty, or hardware tech, you'll probably find better luck than me.

  • 🚫 keyword research - you'll get ~200 generic keywords that are hard to compete/relate on
  • 🚫 topic research - too generic and not out there enough
  • 🚫 creating outlines - they don't understand the audience well
  • 🚫 writing drafts - same reason for outlines, they don't get a grasp of the type of readers
  • 🚫 single article SEO optimization - you're going to get a bazillion reports
  • 🚫 editing and revisions - they'll fix grammar, but Grammarly and Hemingway App do a good job already at this
  • 🚫 backlinks - DO NOT DO THIS, IT WILL DESTROY YOUR SEO 🧨
  • 🚫 content distribution - they usually post on non-relevant content boards and social networks
  • 🚫 guest posting - similar to backlinks, they'll put a guest post on a nonrelevant page
  • βœ… Feature image - there's a lot of creative designers and the price is usually right for a nice image
  • βœ… In-article supporting images - if you provide a sketch, you'll get good results when you find a designer that you like
  • βœ… Blog headlines - when you have low CTR, there's a small pool of decent headline writers on Fiverr that can provide some ... interesting headlines that will definitely get relevant clicks.
