"Dr. House": Finding Medical Experts Who Have Ideas About Long Term Patients Source Of Complaints

Hey everyone,

I recently got an idea for a project since two family members were struggling quite a while with health issues cause of doctors who disbelieved, were just not dedicated enough or idealess trying to find the source of their complaints. Finally, after years/months they were able to find doctors/alternative medicians who were able to provide them with a diagnosis. Now they're both able to get the right medications.

Asking around some friends and colleagues last couple of days I was shocked that a few of them were able to tell also kind of those stories about friends/family members.

Image the situation...

... you've pains, feel exhausted or unexplainable sleeping problems - whatever - for months/years. You already visited a couple doctors to get an idea of whats going on but none of these were able to help. They've disbelieved you, thought it's just "a phase" or just had no idea and were sending you to the next doctor. So you've received your next appointment at a specialist in about 4 months, but you've almost lost hope.

Idea

Think about an online form were you're able to enter your data anonymous in a questionnaire, telling your story about the complaints and stuff -- very detailed, but still anonym.

The idea is that the platform behind that form will check your story and a medical expert will ask (not live) some additional questions related to your case beforehand. After these questions/answers were attached to your story, your anonymous case will be send directly to medical experts (special clinics, universities, local doctors, medical students, alternative medicians, experts, ...) via email asking them to take a look into your case.

The medical expert is able to ask more detailed questions, asking for contact details of you (to schedule an appointment) or simple tell if they have an idea what your complaints causes and that they are willing check that and/or to help finding a diagnosis.

So, the idea is to match you, the patient, with medical experts who actually want to help your find the source of your complaints.

I was thinking like: setting up such a form, collecting and categorize experts from Google and sending them an automated email once the form was filled out, is not a big deal for a MVP.

In the first place, I'm not thinking about monetization. It's a project I think I'd passionated about, since it could provide actual value. Just think about helping ONE SINGLE PERSON through this simple form and matching them with the right expert could bring back their quality of life (just thinking about my family) -- how awesome would that be?

In general:

  • What do you think about the idea at all?
  • What do you think about cold outreaching medical experts with these cases?
  • How could a medical expert benefit from simply checking some cases? How could I encourage them?
