Drifter is live a social travel app built on local knowledge

I just launched Drifter and this is my first post here, so I'll keep it straightforward.

The problem I set out to solve: travel review platforms are full of generic, outdated, and often unreliable information. The people who actually know a city — the ones who live there — aren't the ones writing the reviews you find on most travel apps. Drifter connects travelers directly with locals so they can get honest, specific, firsthand knowledge about any destination.

Here's what the app does right now:

  • Locals create profiles and share posts about their city — restaurants, neighborhoods, hidden spots, practical tips

  • Travelers can follow locals, message them directly, and ask questions

  • Verified Local badges for users who confirm they actually live where they say

  • Trip planning with AI assistance, flight and hotel search, built-in booking

  • Push notifications so locals get alerted when a traveler is heading to their city

It's a PWA so it works on any device and can be installed like a native app.

I built this as a solo founder in a few weeks as a companion to my main project. It's completely free to join.

What I'm looking for right now: early users who travel or who are locals willing to share their city knowledge. Honest feedback welcome — especially from anyone who's tried to plan a trip using existing tools and hit the same frustrations I did.
