I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't know the first thing about software. I don't know what's impossible.
And I think that's a good thing.
I believe trying to do things perfectly slows you down. We've all heard of developers spending 2 years just on their MVP before launching.
Imo, you can figure it out as you go, and you'll learn just as much along the way.
Anyways, this month I'm working on ScriptCraft.io because of a problem I have.
YouTube is (no surprise to anyone) one of the most trafficked platforms in the internet. I believe it's actually the #2 search platform. Millions of hours of content are uploaded every hour. Creators who knows what they're doing are making a mint. And smart business owners are using it for leadgen.
The problem is, writing an actually good YouTube scripts is fucking hard.
People like johnny Harris has full teams behind them.
Back when I started learning how to write scripts, I had no idea what I was doing.
I had ideas…but turning them into something that hooks you in, keeps you engaged, and pays off at the end? That’s a different skill.
So what I did to learn was, I literally downloaded the transcripts of creators I liked, and read, and reread, and broke their videos down by structure, and section, and arc I would reread scripts from my favorite creators over and over,
Until I could write my ideas down in a way that structurally, felt almost half as good as my references.
Now, this is not revolutionary in itself.
This is how writers learn. It's called copy work. Great authors have done it. Great directors as well. It's nothing new.
But it works.
So now I'm building ScriptCraft to make it easier.
So creators can get to building their audience, and income, faster.
Here’s what it does.
A YouTube first script writing editor designed with the same format we use to create production scripts. You can write, visualize, source, and collaborate all in one place.
Upload viral videos to instantly break down their pacing, tone, and structure.
Compare to your script and see where you’re too slow, missing a twist, or might risk losing attention.
Hook & pacing maps that visualize where audiences might drop off vs. where they stay hooked.
Collaboration tools to train editors/writers/VAs to match your exact voice.
The creator economy is ~$128B today, projected to hit ~$528B by 2030.
Even niche tools like vidIQ pulled ~$9M revenue last year.
I don't remember where I heard it, but it's a lot easier to generate revenue with a tool that helps people make money. And a LOT of people are making money on youtube.
In short: ScriptCraft is the YouTube-first script editor.
Write. Visualize. Compare. Collaborate. All in one place.
I made a landing page already and put it on reddit. I have 50 people on the waitlist in just 24 hours. Now I have to...make it
October is going to be interesting. Stay tuned.
Hey, 50 waitlist signups in 24 hours is killer momentum for ScriptCraft!
Quick question, are you noticing people dropping off the waitlist after a few days? I've seen that happen a lot where the initial excitement fades without some simple nurturing.
If you want, I could take a quick look at your current flow and spot any potential leaks. No charge, just seems like you're onto something good there.
