Nice initiative. Unfortunately, being in the US and becoming more privacy sensitive personally, I cut the cord yesterday... No more WhatsApp. Perhaps food for another discussion, but right now, I explore other platforms for virtual meetups, like wonder.me and jitsi.org.
Anyhow... let's see how other react.
