E-Commerce: what's your tech stack? What funnels do you focus on and optimize? Which features impact more these funnels?

Based on my experience as a consultant and startup owner I've realized that:

  • Page load speed
  • Product page to checkout UI and User Experience

Have the biggest impact to the funnel.

I've found myself optimizing these funnel the most:

1 - Paid Ad to promote product > Landing on product page > Checkout
2 - Paid Ad to promote category > Product page > Checkout
3 - Paid Ad to Landing page > Product page > Checkout

On these funnels we also ran:

  • lead collection
  • recall
  • discount / promo / flash
  • abandoned carts

What's your experience?

Could you give recommendations for abandon carts 😅😅

Very similar experience. I'm consulting for an e-comm company and here's what we optimized after the initial launch (in order of importance):

    • Added additional value proposition sections on the landing page (Affirm financing, awards, email capture and reviews/press quotes)
    • Added additional "Buy Now" buttons to the landing page to increase Landing to product page conversion.
    • Added additional reviews and value proposition sections to the product page (Affirm financing, awards, and reviews)
    • Page load speed was next. We created a Google AMP version of our landing page.

From there, we started to think about day-day optimizations. We started to run weekly promotions that coincided with our discount codes. We started to use different abandon cart emails that aligned with our active promotion. All things considered, we increased our conversion rate significantly. It started out below 1% and has slowly crept up. It now hovers around to 2-3% depending on the time of year.

I wrote more about how we run promotions on my blog
