IH #3 was a cozy gathering for 6 Indie Hackers in my apartment, due to last minute cancellation at a coworking place 🙃
I love to see how everybody with their different backgrounds can help out in their own way.
This time we started with a round telling about our projects, where some asked the group for specific help on their turn (great!) and also about new ideas. Then we created 2 groups of 3 where we showcased our projects on the laptops we brought and helped each other out with specific needs.
Please always challenge what the outcome should be for these meetups. I, personally, love hearing about other makers progress as it inspires me. The talks around people’s challenges are great specific takeaways from each meetup.
For the future, I think we should also spend more time in smaller groups with our projects at hand, so we actually also get specific things done instead of just being a “talking club” 😅
Thoughts for next time
- Spend less time introducing ourselves and just let newcomers introduce themselves?
- Do more breakout sessions (1:1 or small groups of 3).
- Open up for bringing laptops and working together.
This is the 3rd meetup in CPH and I am so happy I decided to give it a try with hosting these meetups. I've met the greatest people and sincerely hope we can follow each other over the next months and see each other live out our dreams.

These meet ups are super cool.
If you are an Indie Hacker or a freelancer, then you should most definitely attend these.
First, you will meet like-minded people and actually discuss topics that you want (or even should) discuss. In our group it's usually all about marketing, tools that people use, technology that people build their products on and pretty much anything else that's relevant to building an online business.
Second, you will get support and help. Maybe you are not good at coding yet (or you don't code at all), or you don't know much about growth hacking, or you just want to get feedback on the product you are building. People in the IH community are extremely helpful and literally try to come up with a solution right away, not by only discussing it but also by working on that solution (yes, they actually do that).
Third, you'll make friends. Being an IH is often a lonely journey but it shouldn't be. We started our journey as a group not long ago but I wouldn't doubt that many new friendships are going to be build along the way.
There's so much more to add, but I think it gives a short overview of what is actually happening during these meet ups and I hope it will inspire more people around the world to build groups of Indie Hackers, just like ours. You'll be amazed by how many like-minded people are actually within your reach.
