As the title suggests, which one of the above are you, and are there any particular reasons why you prefer the morning or nights?
Personally, I constantly go back and forth between being productive during the early hours vs late at night. I've never been the best with keeping morning routines and it can take me a while to get into a flow.
night hawk sounds so much cooler than night owl ๐
indie hacking times 10:30 pm - 1am (wake up 8am)
Right?! I heard it a while back and haven't used night owl once since.
Early bird, baby! Up by ~4:30/5am and in bed by 10. This is all pre-pandemic, of course ๐
You know I love you for most things other than this, right? :)

My heart says early bird but my mind does night hawks :)
I am with you on that one!
Early in the morning! I've been waking up at 5 am for the last year and at 6 am for the four years before that.
You sound like you are struggling to be disciplined with your sleep habits. (Consistent wake-up time, hours of sleeping, morning routine, etc.) What bothers you the most about it?
I really struggle with this. I'm a nighthawk and find it really hard to work to a normal schedule. I'm most productive in the evenings, it's often the only time I get to fully focus. I have kids. I'm constantly tired.
I work for myself now so it's easier, but during my agency (design and marketing) years I'd regularly work through the night on pitches and projects.
I was a late-night person my whole life, then kids came along and changed all that. I love early mornings now.
However, with full-on WFH and also having to do calls in different time zones late at night, I am working later and getting up later. Excited to move back to the west coast so I can get back on my super early mornings and be in bed earlier. I love being away before the rest of the world is.
I am definitely a Night Hawk. Waking up in the morning just isn't for me somehow, that's why I became an indie hacker. To create something on my own and not having to wake up early every morning for my job someday. ๐
I was a night owl for years and now I have become a early bird. Starting the day with a walk and it really feels great.
