Discord communities. People misunderstand this a lot. You don't find communities where people are looking for your app. You find people in the communities that you already are in.
Give discounts. If someone asks for a discount, give it to them. You're pricing should already have some wiggle room for discounts. For me since I don't have any server costs or any subscriptions.. I could price my app at 100% free if I wanted to.. making 50% of your app is better than 0% of nothing.
Be open and transparent. Engaing with your community, regardless of how small it is, is crucial. Recent I saw a lot on reddit where a developer was not responding to support and refund emails. Don't ever do this. This will just stop people from buying your app in the future.
This was how I managed to get 7 sales. But do note, none of them were at the price listed on my website. I can contact 5/7 of them. And I have about 3-4 other people using the paid version of the app for free to get feedback, feature ideas, and bug reports.
