Paralysis/Analysis.... Where/How to Start!
Afternoon list.
I'm looking to generate an application. In trying to determine what tools to use, how to develop/generate the initial look/feel in order to generate the app... etc... Enough to make one drink!
I've gone through plenty of github apps in different languages/frameworks to try to get a feel for a "good" direction. I've looked over lots of different open source/github apps to delve into their codebase.. Some look good, others look like sprawling jumbles of mess in terms of the code..
So.. I'm looking to have a post with opinions directed to the starting dev... I could be wrong.. but I'm willing to bet that most of the people here are small teams.. 1-2 people.. with a limited feel for what's good/right/wrong when it comes to doing a stack/project. And yes, I'm fully aware that there are strong feelings about different tech. So no flame wars!
I'd like this post to grow over time if the list fels it's worth adding to over time.
If you have external posts to point to, feel free to give them a shout out, as well as why you think the post is good/bad...
Oh... for my $0.02 worth.. if any indie hackers have vid sites/learning tools where you walk step by step over something.. post it!!!
ps. ideally, I'm looking for someone that I could do a screen sharing/twitch kind of session as I learn/code with someone..
thanks/peace

Apologies but what's your specific question again?
@tsmith Hey I created the app/saas service called stacksimple.io that provides a a "blessed" Rails saas starter kit. The stack is comes with just enough libraries to get you started but nothing to paint you into a corner. I feel like you are in the scope of my target audience.
I would love to chat with you if you have time. No pitches, promise. If you think you could use it after we talk I would give it to you for free ($) as long as we continue a dialogue and you can provide some feedback on the stack.
Let me know if this interests you.
