Editing is where my flow dies – how do you handle rewrites?

For me, writing rarely dies at “I don’t know what to say”.
It usually dies at “I know what to say, but this sentence feels clumsy”.

My pattern for years:

  • Write a messy but honest draft
  • Notice awkward sentences
  • Open a new tab, paste into an AI tool
  • Get a better version, paste back
  • Repeat until I forget what I was actually trying to say

The thinking to editing to doubting loop breaks my flow way more than the blank page.

Because of that, I ended up building Rephrazo, a tiny helper that keeps rewrites inline: highlight text, hit a hotkey, get an AI paraphrase in a popup, insert with one click.
But I’m more interested in how you handle this problem than in pitching the tool.

Curious:

  • How do you handle rewriting your own copy without losing momentum?
  • Do you batch edits, or fix as you go?
  • Do you rely on tools (AI, Grammarly, etc.), or mostly edit manually?

If you want context, the early version is here: https://rephrazo-ai.app/
But I’d love to hear your workflow either way.
